Shot by DOP MATTHIAS PILZ, psychological thriller A PATCH OF FOG has been selected as part of the Discovery Programme at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The feature directorial debut of Michael Lennox, A PATCH OF FOG stars Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones; Salmon Fishing in the Yemen) and Stephen Graham (Boardwalk Empire; This is England), and “follows a celebrated novelist and TV personality who finds his reputation on the line and his life invaded by a lonely security guard when caught shoplifting…” (Northern Ireland Screen)

ROSS McLENNAN has recently wrapped the new promo for The Chemical Brothers ‘Sometimes I Feel So Deserted’.  Directed by Ninian Doff this is a post-apocalyptic thriller, where the hunted humanoid woman becomes the hunter. The promo was shot in a stunningly eerie flat desert in southern Spain, on the Red Dragon with Panavision Primo Anamorphic Lenses. Thrilling, cinematic and full of beautiful suspense.

Production Designer STÉPHANE COLLONGE has begun principal photography on THE HIPPOPOTAMUS, a feature film based on the novel by Stephen Fry. Directed by John Jencks through Electric Shadow Co., it stars Roger Allam as “disgraced poet Ted Wallace who is summoned to his friend’s country manor, Swafford Hall, to investigate a series of unexplained miracle healings…” (Screen Daily)

DOP GARY SHAW has begun shooting TOMMY’S HONOUR on location in Scotland. Directed by Jason Connery and starring Peter Mullan and Jack Lowden, it is the dramatic father and son story about the pioneers of modern-day professional golf and its beginnings at St. Andrews.

Director Connery stated: “I am so incredibly passionate and excited to tell this story. It is a story that is truly close to my heart as I grew up with my father on a golf course, and I have a home an hour from St. Andrews. This is an extraordinary and intimate tale of love and family at the beginning of the great game of golf. This story has to be told!”

GARY’S previous feature, LIFE AT THESE SPEEDS, was directed by Leif Tilden with Executive Producer Sam Rockwell, and starred Tim Roth and Billy Crudup.

A graduate of the prestigious NFTS, Sverre’s graduation film, GROUP B, a high-octane adrenalin short about rally-driving starring Richard Madden (GAME OF THRONES) and directed by Nick Rowland, has been nominated for the Oscars Student Academy Awards 2015, and is currently on the festival circuit. SVERRE’S previous short, SLAP, a coming-of-age drama about the struggles of a young boxer who secretly likes to cross-dress, was directed by Nick Rowland, and starred Joe Cole (PEAKY BLINDERS, PRESSURE). Again shot while at the NFTS, SLAP was both BIFA and BAFTA nominated and won Best Short at the Edinburgh International Film Festival (2014), and was further selected for the Prague Short Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortsFest, London Short Film Festival, and AFI Festival (to name but a few). Recently SVERRE has shot main unit days on Tiger Aspect / BBC 1’s contemporary cop drama CUFFS, and director Matt Halsall’s music promo for DARKSTAR: PIN SECURE through Agile Films.

PETER HANNAN ACS BSC shot the upcoming British science fiction comedy ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING directed by Terry Jones and written by Jones and Gavin Scott. Starring Simon Pegg as a London schoolteacher who ends up with magical powers thanks to a bunch of extraterrestrials (voiced by John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, and Terry Gilliam), it also features Robin Williams in his final role – as foul-mouthed talking dog Dennis. ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING marks the first time all surviving Monty Python members have appeared together since MONTY PYTHON’S THE MEANING OF LIFE, and is due for UK release 14 August. | official trailer here.

Shot by GARY SHAW (eps 1,2,3) and MAJA ZAMOJDA (eps 4,5,6), and directed by Kieron Hawkes and Robert McKillop respectively through Clerkenwell Films, it stars Zawe Ashton, Sacha Dhawan and Tom Weston-Jones as a dysfunctional group of civil servants, struggling with the realities of work and life in the 21st Century.

NICK recently shot Peter Nicholson’s feature DARTMOOR KILLING, a psychological thriller set in Devon which will hit festivals later this year followed by a cinema release. NICK has received BAFTA, RTS and GTC cinematography awards and nominations throughout his career, and notable television dramas include BAFTA & RTS award winning and nominated SKINS, SHAMELESS and CALL THE MIDWIFE. NICK is currently shooting the final season of period drama MR SELFRIDGE, and recently shot the final two episodes of THE INTERCEPTOR for director Richard Senior which is currently airing on BBC One. Other work includes the period dramas MANSFIELD PARK starring Billie Piper, Maggie O’Neill and Hayley Atwell, and THE PARADISE starring Elaine Cassidy and Emun Elliott.
