The premiere of Yardie took place yesterday evening at the BFI Southbank.
Featuring production design by Damien Creagh, the Idris Elba-directed feature centres on the life of a young Jamaican man across 1970s Kingston and 1980s Hackney, as he seeks retribution following the murder of his older brother – you can read a review of the film here.
Yardie is set for general release across the UK from Friday 31st August.
Features include Dance First directed by James Marsh and starring Gabriel Byrne, Idris Elba’s, Yardie, BAFTA nominated Calm With Horses (for which Damien earned a Best Production Design IFTA nomination) directed by Nick Rowland and the BAFTA nominated / BIFA winning Notes On Blindness directed by Peter Middleton & James Spinney. Television drama includes In The Long Run, created by and starring Idris Elba and Floodlights directed by Nick Rowland.
